@3When should the Doctor regenerate?
@5==================================
@1
Although the Doctor`s adventures are now continuing reguarly in
both the Doctor Who New Adventures and Marvel`s Doctor Who magazine,
it remains questionable whether or not the Doctor can remain in his
current state for long.
In my estimation there are some reasons why the Doctor should and
should not regenerate. A lot of these remain due to copyright, rather
than due to real reasons, such as danger. I intend to now look at
these.
Why Should the Doctor regenerate?
1) Some would argue that it is important to remove copyrighted
characters, such as the current incarnation of the Doctor as soon as
possible.
2) The Doctor seems to have survived for a long time without a
regeneration.
3) This would increase mystery in the Doctor and allow further
development of his character.
4) It is important for the Doctor to complete all his regenerations
before people lose interest in him!
Why should the Doctor stay as he is?
1) A regeneration scene would be wasted if it was not televised.
2) This would put paid to an attempt to bring the Doctor back to our
screens.
3) If the show did come back continuity with the authorized New
Adventures would be lost.
4) The show`s life length would continue to decrease, as the Doctor`s
life length is seen to decrease!
Possible solution.
Perhaps miss out all regeneration issues, instead allowing continuing
the New Adventures with new companions and a new regeneration.
Continuity could then be established with the show if necessary. This
would also leave guaranteed space in the Missing Adventures.
Alternatively, I don`t know! All ideas to the normal address.
It`s up to each individual to make their own minds up!
